wash nods and says “okay” and tucker is like “that’s all you have to say? you’re not surprised? shocked? nothing?” and wash is like “tucker… it’s in your file. which i’ve read.” and tucker’s like “waitwaitwait, and you never said anything about it?” and wash at first is accidentally and awkwardly cold, like “it doesn’t change the fact that you’re a soldier.” because that’s what mattered, when they first met and wash first looked all of them up

but then tucker scoffs and looks affronted (because yeah, he’s a soldier and they’re on the same team, but by now they’re all a lot more than that to each other) so wash softens a little and tells him it doesn’t change the fact that he’s lavernius tucker, it doesn’t change the way wash sees him; he was just waiting for tucker to bring it up himself
